THE BEST IN ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL RECRUITING!

Arkansas To Be Filled With Illinois Teams This Upcoming Weekend
by Pat Benninger
April 13, 2006

This weekend, the state of Arkansas will be filled with AAU teams from the state of Illinois.  Two tournaments will be hosted: the Real Deal on the Hill and the Rockin’ The Rock Spring Classic.

The Rockin’ The Rock Classic will feature Team Illinois, Team Illinois Hawks, and Illinois Bobcats on the 17U level.

Team Illinois is led by their two sensational juniors, Brandon Dunson and Eric Hobbie.  They also feature an array of unknown talent in 6’4” sharp-shooter, Nick Michael, 6’0” point guard, Jaron Davis, and 6’7” forward, DeAntre Jefferson.  Sophomore-Greg Cannon also competes with them on the 17U level.

Chris Head and the Hawks will be led by super-sophomore, Ryan Hare.  Dion Dixon, Justin Hightower, and Jamill Harris will also be key roles this weekend.

The Bobcats are carried juniors-Justin Taylor and Jamel Farmer.  5'8" point guard, DeShawn Dockery, will also be a key.

Team Illinois’ 15U team will also be competing but on the 16U level.  They are led by D’mitri Riggs, Jordan Prosser, Tywon Howard, and Michael Brigham

The Real Deal on the Hill features the Illinois Warriors, Full Package, and Midwest Storm on the 17U level.

Brandon McGee had a good showing last weekend in Virginia at Boo Williams, as he led the Warriors in the Silver Division.  Other key players for the Warriors include Manual Cass, Bill Cole, Russell Mackins, Aaron Johnson, Demond Watt, Parish West, Luke Fabrizius, and Justin Dehm.

Full Package is led by 6’6” Wisconsin swingman, Quan Hicks.  6’10” Rock Falls post, Zach House, will be the key on the boards while Shannon Adams and Caleb “Hotsauce” Harris are necessity with getting the ball past pressure.  Look for 6’4” shooting guard, Sean Kane, to rain 3’s all weekend.

Midwest Storm will be led by 6’6” Lucas O’Rear and 6’4” Jeremy Felton.  Other top prospects on their team include Josh Edmonds, Kavon Lacey, Rob Rudy, and sophomore-Daniel Lisch.

Other Illinois players competing on the 17U level include DeAndre Liggens and Nick Evans (Indiana Elite), David Sanchez, Angel Garcia, Trey McCorkle (CAPS All-Stars), and Robert Kreps and Chris Williams (St. Louis Falcons).

The state will be represented on the 16U level by Team Illinois/Champaign Wolfpack and Illinois Warriors.

Team Illinois/Champaign Wolfpack recently captured the state title, led by Donald “Ducky” Stewart, Derrick Womack, Mark Yelovich, Nick Morgan, Tylon McAllister, and Mikel LeShoure.

The Warriors are led by 6’5” wing-Isaiah Simelton and 6’0” point guard-Lorenzo Franklin.

Lewis Jackson, Matt Roth, and Jeremy Robinson will also be competing, but with Team Indiana while the St. Louis Falcons will be with Stefon Carson.

The Illinois Stars are the only 15U team representing the state of Illinois.  Cully Payne, Xavier Humphrey, Markus Yarobrough, and Steve Walker.

It should be an interesting weekend!
