THE BEST IN ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL RECRUITING!

Dunson Ready to Deal with Recruiting

August 21, 2006

The summer is over and 6’3” Bloomington Central Catholic star Brandon Dunson is done traveling and ready to deal with recruiting.

“The summer went well,” said Dunson.  “We competed in Indiana, Kansas City, and Florida and faired well, especially in Kansas City.  I think I played very well individually but wish we could have performed better as a team in Orlando.”

During the AAU circuit, Brandon averaged nearly 25 points and 8 rebounds while playing under his father Dodie Dunson, Sr. and Team Illinois.

Dunson’s performances over the course of the summer helped his recruitment soar so far.

“I’ve got offers from Chattanooga, High Point, Furman, Denver, UC Santa Barbara, and Florida Atlantic,” explained Dunson.  Loyola-Chicago, Indiana State, Evansville, Western Kentucky, and Eastern Kentucky have been on me pretty hard too.”

As far as the high majors go, Oregon State, Clemson, Indiana, and Iowa have shown the most attention.  “I was invited to and attended both Iowa and Indiana’s elite camps and both schools seemed pretty interested,” Brandon stated.

Though he already has Division I offers and a boat load of interest, Dunson has yet to rule out the prep scene.  “A few schools would like me to attend prep school for a season and come out in their 2008 class.  If I do, I’ll defintely be attending Brewster Academy.”

The high flying wing is looking forward to the high school season as well.  With the addition of 6’2” transfer Aaron Garriott and 6’4” freshman Daronte Tillman combined with the shooting efforts of super-sophomore Tom Norton, Brandon will have good company on the floor at all times.

Look for a big time senior season from Dunson who expects to lead Central Catholic to a Class A state title.  “I want to go out with a bang and what better way then by winning a state title?”
