Garcia Taking More Visits
A year ago Nik Garcia was rarely mentioned among the state's most elite class of 2009 players. However, he has always been on MSH's radar and now he's on the radar of many high level college coaches. Garcia, a 6'6" wing, is known for his ability to shoot the ball. He is very long and has good perimeter skills. He handles and passes well and has a chance to compete at a high level collegiately, especially after a breakout July with the Rising Stars. Nik has already taken visits to Southern Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, and Iowa. He has scholarship offers from Northern Illinois, Akron, and SIU while more and more schools are starting to come in to evaluate him and ask him to visit their schools. "Two more schools I'm going to visit some time in the future are Virginia, who watched me in open gym on Monday, and Kentucky," Garcia told MidStateHoops.com. "Coach Webster was at my school today and we talked. He said he was very interested and that he wanted me to come down to Midnight Madness." There's no doubt that Nik is slowly climbing up the charts as a prospect and as his confidence seems to soar, so does his level of play. Expect a breakout season for the Niles West sharpshooter in his junior campaign.
