Redbirds Get First '08 Commitment by Pat Benninger July 19, 2007
Illinois State has gotten what
just may be the sleeper commitment of the year in landing 6’8” Jeremy Robinson
of Decatur Eisenhower.
Robinson is a versatile forward with solid athleticism. He runs the floor well, is good at getting a
hand on rebounds, and blocks shots well.
He is very skilled offensively and has a very good work ethic.
As a freshman in Oxford, Mississippi, Jeremy committed to Ole
Miss. En route to transferring to Illinois as a sophomore,
he then reopened his recruitment. He chose
the Redbirds over offers from Iowa State, Bradley, Creighton, Dayton, and Baylor.
Landing Robinson is just an early sign of where Coach Jankovich is taking this program. Look for him to steal a lot of high major
caliber prospects in the Midwest area and take ISU to the top of the Missouri Valley.
Jeremy teams with Lewis Jackson in the high school season and runs with Spiece Indy Heat-Municipal Gardens on the AAU circuit.
