MSH Fall League: Premium Young Talent
by Jason McGee
October 25, 2007

The MSH Fall League plays host to some of the most competitve and perhaps the most talent packed Fall League in the state. This is just a short list of some of the brightest young talent the league has to offer.

Name

Hgt

Class

High School AAU Team

Rayvonte Rice

6'3"

2010

Champaign Centennial Illinois Elite

Rice has been superior to nearly every player in the league thus far by comparison of scoring prowess. His offensive repertoire is undoubtedly among the best in the state. He can shoot the three, hit the midrange jumper, and finish in transition. It is early in Rice's young career but the talent and potential is obvious.

Jarod Oldham

6'3"

2010

Decatur Eisenhower Indiana Elite

Oldham has been a very efficient player during the fall season. Playing alongside his Eisenhower teammate Lewis Jackson, they have combined to be one of the top duos in the league. Oldham is a rising star in the Big 12 Conference who plays extremely well off of Jackson. He has excellent passing ability and strong point guard potential.

Pierce Ferguson

5'11"

2011

Galesburg N/A

Ferguson is a young freshman point guard out of Galesburg High School. While they may not be known for producing a load of basketball talent, Ferguson has a chance to change that. He is a true point guard who has good passing ability. He sees the floor well and understands where the ball needs to be. He seems to always find his way to the ball and as a result has showed the ability to snag rebounds and turn them into fast break opportunities.

Chasson Randle

5'11"

2011

Rock Island N/A

Randle has already shown himself to be one of the elite players in the 2011 class. Randle has natural talent that is evident on the court at all times. Randle has already shown his ability to pass the rock and finish in the lane with contact.

Tyler Tarrence

6'8"

2011

Midland N/A

At this point in time, Tarrence may be the premier big man in the 2011 class. He appears to be the next high major, dominate small school post player; the same way Carlton Fay and Jordan Prosser have done in recent years. Tarrence already displays good hands and some of his offensive skill set which is well on its way to developing. Already standing at 6'8'', early indicators are this may be a can't miss prospect when it is all said and done. Coaching could be key in his development.

Andrew Jordan

6'4"

2011

Peoria Woodruff N/A

Standing at 6'4'', Jordan is oozing with talent. He is a prototypical wing guard and he has the game to go along with it. Jordan can put the ball on the floor, go to work on the block, or hit the jumper. If Jordan can get the right coaching to develop his obvious potential, he could be the next thing out of Peoria.

Donivine Stewart

5'11"

2011

Limestone N/A

Stewart is perhaps the most polished player in the 2011 class. He has already shown his ability to compete with some of the state's elite talent. Stewart plays with poise and can do major damage with the ball in his hands.

Brandon Watson

6'4"

2011

Peoria Manual N/A

Watson has a Division 1 football body, but he can play on the hardwood as well. Watson is a traditional post player that likes to get physical. He has a nice board side baby hook shot and has also shown his ability to hit the jumper out to 12 feet. If Watson can grow to 6'8'', and continues to develop, he will have high majors calling.
