Top Ten Uncommitted Seniors by Pat Benninger February 13, 2007
Many of the state's best have either committed or signed their letter of intent to attend a collegiate program next season. However, there are still some very talented ones out there who are still open in their recruitment. Prep school players are not included.

Demond Watt |
6'7"
|
Forward
|
Thornton Fractional North |
A jumping jack forward with great
athleticism. Watt is a very active
player who grabs any rebound he possibly can.
The 6’7” forward is the best rebounder in the state. In addition to cleaning the glass on both
ends of the floor, he runs the floor well, scores well around the basket, and
has an improving perimeter game. Mid
majors are all over Demond including Illinois State, St. Louis,
UAB, and Wyoming but he is certainly a high major caliber player. Oklahoma and
Iowa have
noticed and more suitors should be sure to follow. |
2.
|
Justin Bocot |
6'3"
|
Shooting Guard
|
Bloomington |
One of the best scorers in the state. Bocot can fill it up from the outside when he’s
hot, and when he’s not, he can beat you going to the basket. He is a very solid athlete with good ball
handling skills and is also a solid passer.
Justin is still waiting for a qualifying ACT score but is looking as if
he will qualify. He has stated that the
school he wants to attend is Illinois though
others are also in the mix including Ball State, DePaul, and Iowa State. |
3.
|
Parrish West |
6'6"
|
Small Forward
|
Chicago Morgan Park |
One of the top two small forwards in his
class. Parrish is one of the most
skilled players in Illinois. He’s very long and athletic and could be an
asset to any high major program. He
rebounds well and can score from about anywhere. He is also a solid shot blocker. His problem lies within his eligibility. Due to his grades, he will most likely end up
going the Juco route. It has been
rumored he will be attending Chipola next season. |
4.
|
Jamel Farmer |
6'5"
|
Small Forward
|
Bloom Township |
Very skilled small forward who is a warrior on
the floor. Farmer is a very good
scorer. He gets to the basket well and
can finish around the rim. He has a good
handle for his size and keeps a level headed temper throughout the game. He works hard on defense and on the glass and
is one of the more underrated prospects in the state. He could be an immediate impact at a solid
mid major program.

5.
|
Kevin Woods |
6'2"
|
Guard
|
Chicago Leo |
An athletic combo guard with a good feel for the
game. Kevin is a solid all around
guard. He shoots it well, can get to the
basket, is a good scorer, and can also distribute the ball. He is explosive when he gets around the
basket as he is capable of rising and dunking over crowds though he has a finesse
style. The 6’2” guard is also a capable
rebounder. Indiana State, Loyola-Chicago, and Northern Illinois are all in the mix for the underrated
Leo star. |
6.
|
Justin Hightower |
6'2"
|
Guard
|
Proviso West |
A warrior on the floor. Hightower doesn’t back down from any
challenge. He is a strong player who
handles the ball well and can get to the basket. He doesn’t force a lot and makes good
decisions on the floor. Defensively, he’s
an in-your-face type guy. He’s a great
floor general and knows how to lead a team.
Cleveland State,
Eastern Illinois, Howard, and Indiana State are among the
programs following Justin. |
7.
|
Isaiah Martin |
6'8"
|
Power Forward
|
Chicago Morgan Park |
A skilled big man who has a solid game on both
ends of the floor. Martin runs the floor
well and always gives his all. He
rebounds the ball well and is a good shot blocker. He scores well around the basket and has
extended range to the 15’ area. He has a
solid list of mid majors on him including Evansville,
Bradley, and Northern Illinois. |
8.
|
Jon Montgomery |
6'3"
|
Shooting Guard/Small Forward
|
Chicago Lincoln Park |
A strongly built prospect who will play the
shooting guard and glimpses of the small forward on the next level. Montgomery has solidified himself as a very solid mid major prospect. He handles the ball well, has good court
vision, and can fill it up from the outside.
He rebounds well and is able to take smaller guards and work them in the
post. Bowling Green,
George Mason, Eastern Kentucky, Northern Illinois, and Loyola-Chicago have all
offered Jon along with Big Ten program, Penn State. |
9.
|
Jeff Jordan |
6'0"
|
Guard
|
Loyola Academy |
The 6'0" heir of the world's greatest himself has proven to be a solid mid major prospect. He is strong and very athletic and has an outstanding basketball IQ. He gets to the basket well, is an underrated passer, and is a great defensive player. Loyola-Chicago, Illinois State, and Davidson are just a few of the programs in the hunt for Jeffery. |
10.
|
Terrance Williams |
7'0"
|
Center
|
Edwardsville |
A skilled ‘footer who has improved his strength throughout
the course of the season. Williams runs
the floor better than anyone his size.
He is a very talented player who is outstanding when he has the proper
confidence. He has the ability to
rebound, block shots, finish around the basket, and has range on his jumpshot,
but needs to stay active on the floor, which is when his game really comes
together. He needs to add consistency
and continue getting stronger. Leading
Terrance’s list is Ball State, Illinois-Chicago, and New
Mexico. All
three schools have offered as has Fresno State,
Missouri, and Wyoming. |
10.
|
Jeremy Felton |
6'6"
|
Forward
|
Belleville West |
An ultra-athletic forward who can become a human
highlight film at any given time. Felton
is a good rebounder and shot blocker but is also a good scorer around the
basket. With improved ball handling and
shooting skills, he could certainly be a high major prospect. Jeremy has been to three schools in four
seasons and needs to make vast improvements in the classroom so he will more
than likely end up taking the junior college route. After two seasons of Juco ball, if he has his
off the court issues together, look for Felton to emerge as one of the most
recruited small forwards in the nation.
