Final Class of 2008 Player Rankings Released
June 1, 2008

Four players stood among the rest when ranking the top 50 class of 2008 players.  Michael Dunigan, Lewis Jackson, Verdell Jones III, and Iman Shumpert have all proven their worth in some way or another throughout their careers.  Both Dunigan and Shumpert were Jordan Brand and McDonald's All Americans.  Jackson was a varsity start for four years who has proven himself as a winner and Jones was a record helder that has been successful at every level.

In the end the number one spot came down to who has been the most successful player on the high school and AAU levels during their four year stay as Illinois prep players.  Lewis Jackson has been a four year varsity starter at Decatur Eisenhower who, by his senior year, was nearly undefeated.  He was also the leader of a top five nationally ranked Indiana Elite.

Here are how the rankings break down:

There are no five-star players in our rankings but 6 four-stars, 24 three-stars, and 20 two-stars.

31 players are signed with Division I schools (including one for football) and 1 is committed but not yet signed, 1 is committed to a Division II, 1 is committed to a Divsion III, none are committed to NAIAs, 6 are signed with junior colleges, 2 are committed to prep schools, and 8 players are uncommitted.
