Player Focus: Rick Almon
York Community High School may be hiding one of the most talented kids in the 2008 class in Rick Almon. The 6'4" 175 lbs point guard is smooth with a solid handle and a sweet midrange stroke. He has a long, lanky frame, allowing him to cause havoc on the defensive end. Combine those attributes and add them to the amount of hustle he exerts, and it becomes easy to see why it is very possible for Almon to be recognized as one of the top 30 juniors throughout the state of Illinois. MidStateHoops.com feels he could possibly be a tough mid-major competitor on the collegiate level. At the Illinois State Team Camp, where we first noticed Rick, it seemed that he will be the key player for, what seemed to be, a solid high school team. Look for him to generate a lot of points for their squad this up and coming season. Currently, Almon is not participating with anyone of the AAU circuit. He would be a solid pickup for any top notch program.
